University of Bristol’s School of Veterinary Science restores its full approval from the RCVS
The University of Bristol had been under conditional approval since March 2007 but, following a vistation in December 2011 the University of Bristol is now unconditionally approved by the RCVS.
Professor Stuart Reid, EPSC Chairman, praised the school:
“There is a positive and constructive atmosphere, which is a credit to the Head of School and all the staff who have clearly worked extremely hard”

London Vet School holds veterinary baking competition
Veterinary cakes aren’t the sort of cake you’ll see in most shops. Graphic, delicious and detailed, they clearly took a lot of time and effort to bake.
The winner was Esme Rowly whose cake was a Cow caesarian section.

There has been an increase of 52 registered graduates this year through RCVS, an unconfirmed figure of 760.
84 graduates from recently opened veterinary schools such as the University of Nottingham have also registered with the college.
It’s exciting to see so many new vets about to venture into the wide world of work. We have a wealth of information on the site to help recent graduates make their first steps into work.

Students from St. George’s from the Caribbean island of Grenada have passed RCVS entry exams with a 100% pass rate. This is a tremendous feat considering the standard pass rate is usually only around 44%.
Students have to undergo a two day series of stringent exams to ensure compliance with strict RCVS standards. The exam has no pass quota and thus everyone receiving a passing mark is now a qualified veterinary surgeon in the UK.
