BVA partners with London Vet Show to provide Careers Fair

The BVA will be providing an exclusive Careers Fair to BVA members at the London Vet Show on 24-25th November. The Fair is ideal for last year-students and graduates. BVA members also receive a 10% discount on the entrance fee.

The London Vet Show is an exciting conference with a lot of opportunities for students and graduates. If you’re attending please stop by our pod at Stand P35.

BVA free 3 month trial — perfect for new vets

A free trial of BVA (British Veterinary Association) membership is now available for a 3 month period for non-members contemplating whether the association is for them or not. BVA have recently introduced legal assistance as well as a host of other benefits.

BVA has recently come into ‘competition’ with BVU (British Veterinary Union) over services provided, though both associations are very different in intention.

BVA stresses access for students on longer courses

Measures should be in place to provide support for students considering longer courses, says the BVA in answer to findings from Simon Hughes’ report.

Relatively low pay and courses lasting longer than 8 years, with all the fees that entails, have led the BVA to pursue a scheme to allow special programmes for students from poorer backgrounds to study. Click here to read the full statement by the BVA.

Tuition fees change for Welsh students — BVA dinner

The three major issues presented at the BVA Welsh Dinner revolved around the government’s apprehension in carrying out advice from the industry, and a welcome change to tuition fees for Welsh students. Whilst tuition fee funding is welcome news, why is the government ignoring the veterinary community’s advice on TB and poor breeding practice?
