School of Veterinary Medicine and Science shortlisted for Times Higher Education award

Nottingham University’s veterinary department is shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2012 in the Outstanding Departmental Administration Team category.

The university recently received accreditation from the RCVS and has since implemented new administrative models that give academics more time to research, teach and respond to students.

The university has also been commended for its student experience and modern IT-department. As e-learning becomes ever more important technology plays an increasingly important role in veterinary school.

Canine Health Awards launch at Crufts (with funding award for students)

The Kennel Club launch awards to support research into dog health

The awards will be launched at Crufts NEC Birmingham on 11 March. There will be 3 main categories: The Lifetime Achievement Award, The International Prize in Canine Health Award and The Student Inspiration Award. Each award carries a significant amount of funding.

Funding has kindly been provided by the Vernon and Shirley Hill Family Foundation.

Of particular interest to veterinary students is The Student Inspiration Award, a £10 000 prize fund presented to an extraordinary student who demonstrates potential to advance the frontiers of veterinary medicine.
